What Do You Call This?

I have this extreme headache - and no, this is not migraine even though I almost always have that. Yeah pretty scary. But anyway, back to the topic. I get a headache every time I don't know what something is. For instance, someone mentions or describes something and he/she does not know what it is. So that person tells it to me. I have that feeling that I know the answer but I could not get myself to say it.

It gets annoying. Like when I am watching a movie. Then I see this actor and I recognize him. Then I would rack my head, thinking where I have seen him before or what his name is. If I don't know, my head would start pounding. LOL.

i Love Toy Dogs!

Toy dogs are amazing! I love them a lot especially:

  • Shih tzu
  • Maltese
  • Bichon Frise
  • Lhasa Apso
  • Chow Chow
I just learned about the bichon frise today. I mean I know this breed exists but I didn't know how cute it really was. I saw this video on YouTube (Animal Planet's Dogs 101) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Td2Bq9KQVSU&feature=related and I instantly fell in love with this breed. The bark is soooo darn cute! I also related to the story in the video since I also lost my puppy (Shih Tzu named Cody) so I teared up when I watched it. I don't want to talk about Cody yet because it is still very painful to lose someone you really cared about. I pampered him a lot and he suddenly passed away. Sigh.

Anyway, the Maltese is also really cute and I love the fact that it is one of the sturdiest breeds around even if it does look like it's breakable. See here for maltese in Dogs 101 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tRA2W1D0PTc

I also like English Bulldogs and probaby Shar Pei too even though they are not toy dogs. They are very cute but I'm a bit apprehensive about them since it is a belief they do not live long. I don't want to suffer from the pain of losing another dog. This is why I'm vowing never to let any dog of mine die again. I will do everything to make him live. Him since I prefer male dogs. I don't think I can handle dogs that menstruate LOL. Regardless, all of them are adorable whatever their gender is.

I wish I could get a new dog but I have limited budget right now. But I will definitely get one in the next two months or so. I'm just so excited that I really want to have one already. Anyone out there who is willing to let me adopt their puppy? Let me know. xD

Part 4: How to Annoy Other People Who Use Your Computer - Restrict Download

The Control Panel trick in Part Three was awesome! It's better than the other two, the Login Password and the Disconnect Internet tactic. However, I have a problem with the CP trick. It takes a lot of time especially since I have to tweak the Control Panel myself to get the Internet back again. Also, there's one tiny flaw. When you open My Computer, you will the name Networks there. This stupid guy stupidly clicked on Connect to a Network. It told him he wasn't connected to a network first then there was a popup that says the above. I was shocked. My mouth literally fell open for two seconds. No! Not only is the Control Panel trick time consuming but it also allowed him to use the Internet. Now he's playing again. Darn it!

So this is probably the last straw and I'm going to do something about this seriously now. Clearly I have underestimated them (mostly their luck) so I have to do something better. I downloaded a program called NetLimiter 3. This is a brilliant program that allows Internet connection but you can customize the download speed so that it appears that you do not have Internet connection at all (or you probably do but the speed is sooo SLOW. Who wants that?) This time, it worked like a charm and it's very easy to use. Since I use Google Chrome, I simply slowed the download rate a bit and man, were they pissed with the speed. They could not play their precious games LOL.

I know there are other simpler tricks to keep people off your computer but like I said, I just can't tell them no BECAUSE I CAN'T. So I simply choose to annoy them. It's more rewarding in the end :D

To know more about NetLimiter 3, go to the website http://www.netlimiter.com/
TO download go here http://www.netlimiter.com/download.php
Trust me, it's a great program. It also lets you connect to the other computer through LAN I think but it doesn't work for me though. Maybe I did something wrong. Anyway, this is the last part since I successfully annoyed them and kept them out of my computer FOR GOOD!

Part 3: How to Annoy Other People Who Use Your Computer - Lock Control Panel

I cannot believe it! They managed to turn on Internet access with their small brains! I really don't believe this is happening. I don't know how HE did it but it seems like I underestimated him. I thought he would not know how to find the Internet access icon but he did.

I forgot to tell you in Part Two that I hid the icon by customizing the notification area. You can click on the small arrow next to the leftmost part of you notification area and click CUSTOMIZE. Alternatively, go to Control Panel and find Notification Area Icons. You can find this easily if you switch to Small Icons in View By. Now, I went to Network and chose HIDE ICON AND NOTIFICATIONS. Click OK and close the window. I thought it was over but clearly, it wasn't which is why here's part three. Since I removed my account password which I talked about in Part One ( yes I know it's stupid but I have my reasons) I had to do something more without putting that password back - just to annoy them more.

So here's what I finally did. I hid the Network icon again and I disabled Control Panel. Ha! Clever right? This will never allow them to open the Network icon or the Notifications Area settings or whatever they would like to open to modify MY OWN COMPUTER!

If you are interested in disabling your Control Panel, here's how:

1. Type REGEDIT in the Run command (CTRL+R).
2. This will open the Registry Editor (Hence the name REGEDIT LOL)
3. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Policies\Explorer
(- Yes I copied and pasted that)
4. Once you have clicked on Explorer, go to the right pane and right click there. Choose DWORD from the options with 32-bit value.

5. Name it NoControlPanel then right click on it and click Modify.

6. Change the Value to 1 and exit the editor.

7. Reboot to see the changes.

When I read this somewhere, it was noted that creating a Restore Point may be necessary. If you do not know hat you're doing, do not edit the registry at all. You not only lose Control Panel access but there are harsher consequences as well. But if you follow what I stated above, you should be fine.

------------

The next day, this is what happened. THIS GUY said there was something wrong with my laptop. Hahaha! I played along of course. I should have an acting award for that. Control Panel is gone and there's an error that pop ups when he tries to access the Notification Area.

How convenient right?

Part 2: How to Annoy Other People Who Use Your Computer - Disconnect Internet

I just posted how to annoy other people who use your computer by putting an Admin password. Usually it works but my "other users" are persistent. So they couldn't turn on my computer since they do not know the password. I already had that smirk on my face when I turned on my computer, used it for a while, then went to the bathroom. Guess what? THIS GUY immediately took my seat and was playing his favorite game. Darn it!

I told him I needed to do something but he ignored me. He sat there playing for an hour which seemed like a day for me. So the password thing did not work unless I stayed at my seat for 24 hours. I searched for another way to annoy them especially THAT GUY. Then I thought since they use the Internet, why don't I disconnect the Internet? Of course, I want to annoy them so I have to do it without them thinking that I deliberately did that.

As part of my plan, I turned off the account password and hid the Internet Icon in the Notification Area. This is located at the bottom right of the screen where the system clock is. I know they are not computer geeks. As a matter of fact, all they know is to click and click. When they type words using the keyboard, it takes them an hour to form a sentence. MEAN!

I disconnected the Internet by pressing FN + F11 (Network Key on my laptop) just to make sure. Then I hid the Internet connection icon. Let's hope this will work. :D:D:D

Part 1: How to Annoy Other People Who Use Your Computer: Put a Login Password

Okay, so I have a laptop and some people I don't like use it. I cannot tell them no for specific personal reasons (even if I want to) but I found a few ways to annoy them lol.

The first thing that I did is to make sure that they cannot play online games. That is actually the only reason that they use my laptop anyway. It is irritating that I had to wait for my turn to use MY laptop. So what I did was to put a password on my laptop. Because of that, they can no longer open my laptop without me turning it on first.

I have Windows 7 as my operating system. It is pretty easy to set up an Admin Password no matter what operating system you have.

1. Click Start or the Windows icon
2. Go to Control Panel.
3. I normally click on "Small Icons" in the View By function at the upper right side of the window. This is to help me go to the User Accounts section easily. Feel free to do whatever you please.
4. Click on User Accounts and click on Add Password or whatever it says. Mine says Change Your Password since I have a password already.
5. You can check if your password is working if your account says it is password protected. You can also check if you restart your computer.

Make sure that you do not forget your password and you do not use random passwords that will take you several hours (okay, I'm exaggerating) to type. Nevertheless, make sure those pesky people would not figure out what your password is.
